The Dublin Burlesque Festival is Ireland’s premier Annual Burlesque and Cabaret Festival. Burlesque gained popularity in Ireland in 2004 and has rapidly increased in momentum as entertainment rich and fun night out. The Dublin Burlesque Festival brings the heritage, experience, skills and performers from these amazing 13 years of Burlesque and Cabaret in Ireland together.
The 4 day festival will be run by a team highly experience in Event Management and the Arts who have been producing, promoting and performing in Burlesque and Cabaret shows since the birth of Burlesque on our Emerald Isle! And now we want to celebrate it with you all!
Dominique began running events in college for a variety of societies and graduated to running corporate events while working for large and small companies throughout the nineties. Since 2002, Dominique has run events of all sizes, for corporate and not for profit clients, ranging from afternoon tea to 3 day festivals. Dominique is a certified project manager with several years experience as a consultant.
Roxy is a sparkling lady in all regards! Having worked for 4 years in TV production, as a production manager on shows such as Celebrity Salon & Fade street, she also co-founded, and produced the IMTV Video Music Awards, which she event managed in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
As one of Ireland original Burlesque Stars, Roxy has performed with Burlesque shows such as The Tassel Club, The Burlesque & Cabaret Social Club and many more over Ireland and the UK since 2005. Roxy’s repertoire of acts are famous for their iconic references and comic qualities, with nods to Snow White, Pulp Fiction, Wonder Woman and Lady Gaga! She has been an opening act for Comedian and Actor Russell Brand, and graced the stages of the Galway Comedy Festival, the Bulmers Comedy Festival, Castlepalooza, Lost Vagueness and the Electric Picnic. With qualifications in Law, Event Management and Public relations, an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies, as well as being one of Ireland’s first Burlesque stars, she is the ideal person to bring the Dublin Burlesque Festival to life.
Dublin’s original Burlesque Starlet, rising from such seminal clubs as Faith and The Tassel Club, Mz Epiphany deMeanour’s performances are in the classic style of the 40′s and 50′s pin-up. Inspired by such renowned artists as Sally Rand, her homage to the legendary fan dancer aspires to recreate the sophisticated grace of her idol, but with a slightly more eccentric, comedic twist. Within weeks, she was the original Usherette for the Tassel Club, quickly rising to be the ‘Face Of’, and managing a troupe of uniformed Usherettes, bringing tassels, cigars and other vintage style items to the audience in classic 50′s Cinema Usherette style. Epiphany has graced the boards at various festivals, corporate and movie events, including the Electric Picnic, Castle Palooza, The Trinity Ball, The Mansion House and The Dublin Burlesque Ball. As well as performing, Epiphany was the front of house and stage manager for The Tassel Club for four years, until the club relocated to London.
Karl X Byrne has worked in entertainment for 13 years with over 8 years experience on the Irish Burlesque scene since its beginnings and is considered by many as Mr. Burlesque. Karl spent nearly 5 years with The Tassel Club as Performer, DJ and musical director, followed by a year as DJ and consultant with The Dublin Burlesque Ball. For 8 years now he has been running Ireland’s top Burlesque event, The Burlesque & Cabaret Social Club as well as presenting his own 2 hour weekly radio program The Speakeasy for Liffey Sound FM. Karl is an expert is spotting talent and nurturing new performers, as well as managing and producing high calibre shows that have become the heart and soul on the Irish Burlesque scene.
